Terms of service

The agreement between your firm and ours. Written to be read, because our customers are the kind of people who read them.

Last updated 8 September 2026 · [SCORP LEGAL NAME — e.g. S Corp Accounting & Tax Consultancy L.L.C]

Draft for review. This is a working draft prepared to save your lawyer the blank page, not legal advice. Have UAE-qualified counsel read it before it goes live, and fill in every square-bracketed detail first.

1 · Who you are contracting with

Accountive is operated by [SCORP LEGAL NAME — e.g. S Corp Accounting & Tax Consultancy L.L.C], a company licensed in Dubai, United Arab Emirates under trade licence [TRADE LICENCE NO.], with its registered office at [OFFICE, BUILDING], Business Bay, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”). Our tax registration number is [YOUR TRN].

These terms form a contract between us and the organisation that opens an account (“you”, “your firm”). If you accept them on behalf of a firm, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

2 · What the service is, and what it is not

Accountive is practice-management software. It records the corporate tax and VAT obligations of your clients, generates due dates from the facts you enter, and helps your team track the work.

It does not give tax advice and it does not file anything with the Federal Tax Authority. Every date it shows is derived from data you supply. You remain responsible for the accuracy of that data, for the professional judgement applied to it, and for making every submission to the FTA. We are not your tax agent and nothing in the software is a substitute for one.

The FTA's rules, deadlines and penalty amounts referred to in the software reflect our understanding at the time it was written. Legislation changes. You are responsible for confirming the position that applies to your client.

3 · Your account and your people

  • You need one user seat for each person who signs in. Seats are not shared, and a shared login is a breach of these terms — the audit trail is worthless if two people use one account.
  • The person who opens the workspace is its owner and may appoint administrators.
  • You are responsible for who you invite, for what their access level allows, and for removing people who leave your firm.
  • You must keep credentials confidential and tell us promptly if you believe an account has been compromised.

4 · Fees, VAT and renewal

  • Prices are shown per user seat per month and exclude VAT. UAE value added tax at the prevailing rate (currently 5%) is added at checkout and shown on every invoice.
  • Annual plans are charged in advance for twelve months. Monthly plans are charged in advance each month.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term at the then-current price for your plan and seat count, unless cancelled before the renewal date. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any price increase takes effect on renewal.
  • Adding seats mid-term is charged pro rata. Removing seats takes effect at the next renewal.
  • Payment is by card through Stripe. We do not see or store your card details.
  • If a payment fails we will retry it and tell you. We will not suspend a workspace for a failed payment without giving you at least 14 days to put it right.

Give us your firm's TRN at checkout and it will be printed on every tax invoice, so your input tax is recoverable. We cannot reissue an invoice with a TRN added after the fact once a tax period has closed.

5 · Cancelling, and what happens to your data

You may cancel at any time from the billing page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not refund the unused part of a period. The full position, including the exceptions we do honour, is set out in Cancellation and refunds.

After a subscription ends, your workspace becomes read-only for 90 days: everything stays visible and exportable, and you can still download your data, but you cannot add new clients. After 90 days we may delete the workspace. We will email the owner before we do.

You can export your clients, filings, tasks and reports to Excel or CSV at any time while the account is open. That is your data and you may take it whenever you wish.

6 · What belongs to whom

Your data is yours. You keep all rights in the client records, documents and figures you put into Accountive. You grant us only the permission we need to host and process that data in order to run the service for you, as described in the Data Processing Agreement.

The software is ours. These terms give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Accountive for your firm's own practice for as long as your subscription is current. You may not copy, resell, sublicense, reverse engineer or use it to build a competing product.

If you send us suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.

7 · Availability and support

We aim to keep Accountive available at all times, but we do not offer a contractual uptime guarantee at these prices and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. We publish our current state at status, and we will tell you about planned maintenance in advance.

Support is by email at support@accountive.ae. We answer within one working day, Sunday to Thursday, 09:00–18:00 Gulf Standard Time. Weekends and UAE public holidays roll to the next working day.

8 · Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UAE law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Subject to that: our total liability to you in any twelve-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of goodwill, or for any penalty, fine or interest imposed on you or your client by any authority.

That last point matters and we would rather be plain about it than bury it. The software helps you keep track of deadlines. It does not assume responsibility for meeting them. If a return is filed late, the penalty is yours, whatever the software did or did not show.

You will indemnify us against claims arising from your use of the service in breach of these terms, or from data you put into it that you had no right to.

9 · Suspension and termination by us

We may suspend or close an account that is being used unlawfully, that is being shared across firms in breach of the seat rules, that threatens the security or stability of the service, or where fees remain unpaid after the 14-day period in clause 4. Except in an emergency we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix it.

10 · Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For any change that materially reduces your rights we will give at least 30 days' notice by email to the workspace owner, and you may cancel before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the change.

11 · Governing law

These terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of Dubai.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it.
